My roommate frustrates me,how do I handle her?

Good morning Ma,Please how do I handle this my roommate that is trying to drive me crazy?
We are course mates and in the same level.A fellow course mate gave me her contact when I was
desperate for accommodation,so I moved in with her three months ago.I paid her my own share of the rent to the last kobo. But since I moved in with this girl, it has been one problem to another.I am the type of person that doesn't like using another person's thing especially without the person's consent. I travel home twice in a month. The other time I traveled, she traveled with my shoes and didn't tell me,I only found out because I saw the pictures she uploaded.I searched for the shoes when I got back to school but didn't find it till she came back when I went to school and dropped it back thinking that I didn't know what she didn't. I didn't ask her about it.Another time I traveled and came back.I wanted to cook rice and discovered that about fifteen cups of rice I had before I traveled was remaining just two cups.not only that, she carried my pot to her boyfriend's place and cooked the rice there.I warned her not to take my pot out of our room again.she returned the pot after three days. She uses my bath soap and towel. If I make the mistake of buying any wear, she buys the same including nightwears. I have been keeping calm because I don't like trouble and I have to be careful with the way I handle her because we live in the same room and I keep my food in the same room to avoid anyone planning even for me.But the one that is making me very angry now is that I came back to school yesterday to discover that she carried my pot to her boyfriend's place again and went and opened my box and took the sanitary pad I kept in there without my consent again. She left my pot in her boyfriend's place and traveled. This is someone that I don't use her things. Please how do I handle this when she comes back because am very angry now?
Dear sender,
I can only imagine the disappointments and frustrations you go through living with your roommate.
These few tips will help, buy some padlock and lock up your properties.
Get a locker and pack up your pots and lock them up whenever you are leaving your house.
You do not need to be frustrated by her attitude but let this bring out the wisdom, maturity and understanding in you.
Be patient with her and tolerate her for the duration of your rent, then you can part with smiles and goodbye.
Do not attack nor fight, you will only be making yourself vulnerable to public ridicule.
Some individuals come into our lives to help us utilize some things we felt was common or unnecessary.
I know the pains and regrets are much but the truth is, you are not competing with her and please do not permit her to change your perception about life or your personality.
You shall glow and shine much brighter in life.
Pray and encourage her, share the little you can if possible and do not let her attitude get to you.
With wisdom and maturity, you shall conquer this too.
All the best in your academics.

  1. Would have advised you scout for another roommate as you bid your time but who knows, the new one may be worse.

Experience, they say, is the best teacher. Now you know the kind of person she is...follow suit. Use her things too let her experience just how you feel. Yea, it may lead to altercations but that will give you the opportunity to sit her down and tell her enough is enough, define your boundaries. You paid your rent and deserve some modicum of privacy and respect.

In the meantime, plan to get your own accommodation or hostel accommodation.
And, of course, get your things locked up.
