Will I Ever Get such an Opportunity Again?

Good morning MRS AVL. Happy Sunday and new month to you and family. Greetings to the house. Thanks for the advice given to us the last time my wife wrote you as things have really improved for good, God bless you aunty. Please help me on this...
Am in one of the southern states doing a little job in a private firm. I have expected a promotion all the while since late 2014 and early 2015 that when it comes, it'll change my life for good as I'll do good things in my family because it would also lead to an increment in my income.
The opportunity came for the promotion three months ago but something happened that made it slip away from me and ever since then my life haven't been the same as the thought of that I missed that opportunity affects me psychologically, the trauma of seeing myself in the same level because of my mistake of not scaling through the process brings me depression and low self esteem. It's bringing me down as I feel like all hope is lost, that how can I ever get such an opportunity again?
Most times I ask God why did he allow such to happen to me after all the prayer, fasting and hardwork I have put in to earn me my promotion and all I have gone through in life knowing fully well how I needed the promotion so that I can be a happy and good man and provide for my family but HE didn't allow it come to me.
Please madam advice me with words of encouragement as am going down by the day as it is also affecting my attitude towards my marriage as the thought of can I still make it good in life again comes to me all the time since the day I missed that opportunity.

Will God who gave you a beautiful wife put you in shame? Will God forsake your labour of love and reward you with evil? Will God visit your family with famine nor will God not prosper the works of your hands and make your joy to be full? 
I vehemently doubt that our heavenly father will do so and one thing that I am convinced of is that God is working out a greater promotion for you and your family but because you cannot see beyond your pains and worries, you may not even know that God has gone ahead of you to give you what will marvel you and your wife. 
God never delays a thing without multiplying and expanding it, when God is with you, it doesn't matter how long you were delayed or much you have invested in it, you shall surely rise and celebrate in due time. 
As I read your mail, God reminded me of these words and I will encourage you to hold onto these words and daily practice it and leave everything to God. 
Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation! [Rom. 8:37.] The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds' feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

Even when it may seem as though you are stagnant, Rejoice in the Lord! 
Even when you feel that you are not growing, please Rejoice in the Lord! 
Even when it's seem as though others are ahead of you, again Rejoice in the Lord! 
When your take home makes your wife cry and feel discouraged, pat her at the back and remember to Rejoice in the Lord. 
You had great plans for the family and you have desired, expected, prayed, fasted and waited upon the Lord and yet you didn't get promoted, don't panic, but simply Rejoice in the Lord!
If you gave your all and still didn't get rewarded for your sacrifice, don't forget to Rejoice in the Lord! 
You may wonder why you should rejoice when you are in pains, disappointed and discouraged, it's because God is God, He is still on the throne, His mind is unsearchable, his ways are beyond your thoughts, in fact what you think that you know of him is too little compared to who he really is and to his plans for your family and your life. 
Don't give up, no not at all, don't panic or lose hope, your God is not a tree that withers with time, your God is not a river, He is mighty, He is the Almighty and when he chooses to bless you, no human, no manipulations of man, no mistakes of your life will stop him from blessing you. 
Please stop talking like a failure and stop feeling defeated, give your heart to your work, give your heart to the promises of God concerning your life and marriage, please look up to him and remember that God is not dead, nor will he ever fail to favour you in all your endeavours (with emphasis on all your endeavours). 
Let's allow God to be God while we trust him to prove himself in your company and visit your family in a manner that will leave you with great rejoicing and gratitude. When Job lost all, he never lost his faith in God because he knew that His redeemer lives and will never disappoint him. When Abraham was old and with no child, he never wavered in his convictions that he who promised is faithful to fulfil his promises. When Hannah was barren, she never lost her hope in God because she knew that God will hear her cry and remember her someday. When Daniel was threatened by the Egyptians, his convictions was too strong that he chose to die even if God doesn't come to his rescue, of course he never died but was promoted beyond what anyone else thought of him. Joseph was sold out but He knew that he was sent out on a divine assignment that will place him in a position to save his family and country from dying of famine and hunger. 
My brother and friend, God is not man, what you are experiencing today is nothing compared to what God is preparing for you and your family, please, please and please do not lose hope in God or feel discouraged, God will promote you in a manner that you least expected and I'm looking forward to receiving your testimony before the end of this year in Jesus name Amen.
