I'm Under Pressure Now!

Good evening Mrs AVL, happy new year to you ,I needed an urgent advice on the next action to take. Things have been very tough for us financially since our wedding to the point of not being able to afford what to eat all day,but what bothers me is that my hubby has started forming the habit of smoking. I have sat him down and told him but all fell on deaf ears even after he promised several times that he'll quit, my fear is that this may drive us apart because it irritates me and i feel am losing intimacy with him.
I'm under pressure as it is now,I'm in my finals plus am pregnant with my second baby and also worried about the whole money issue, that doesn't make me do the wrong things. The fact that he cant provide for his family and because of the failures and disappointments he's had in business. I have been praying but I need an action point. Advice me please. Thanks

One thing you must realise is that you are married what it means is that you don't sit down and complain about how things aren't moving as you planned it but you will also seek for ways to make things better for you and your family.
Businesses are crumbling, plans and visions are fading off but a woman who has a personal relationship with God will not let the trying times to consume her but will seek ways to help her husband overcome the challenges that is confronting your home.
What can you do do raise funds to take care of your needs and the needs of your family? In what ways can you help to provide meal for your child and assist your husband? Are there business ideas or prospects you can suggest for your husband, are there businesses that you can do in school to make some money and are there some skills you can utilise to raise money for your family?
How is your husband managing his businesses and how do you help me him to make a wise financial decisions in his businesses?
That you are under financial pressures doesn't mean that you have the privilege to sleep around or embarrass your husband by begging for help from all quarters but this is the time to task yourself to be productive and responsive to the challenges of your family.
So drop the big girl status of the final years and embrace the realities of being a married woman, mother and companion to your husband.
As regards his smoking habit, I want to believe that you were aware that he was smoking before you got married to him. One thing you must learn is that habits doesn't die with promises but they are defeated with discipline and a deliberate change of attitude towards the negative addiction. So you may need to be more patient with him and encourage him to keep trying until he improves in his attitude and quit smoking.
Please do not let the challenges of your marriage push you into making any decisions that you may live to regret for the rest of your life nor should you be overwhelmed by your present circumstances but make out time to seek the face of God and ask for his grace and wisdom to manage your home in times like this.
Also please endeavour to enrol yourself for the antenatal care so that you can take good care of your pregnancy and your health care while in school.
I know that this phase of your marriage will pass away, and you shall rise above the challenges of your marriage if you can look up and hold unto God.

  4. Only one word for you dear......
Welcome to married life!!! Where good meets bad, beautiful meets ugly,up meets down, front meets back ... I can go on and on. But the bottom line is: find happiness your own way, pray and believe fervently in God, hold dear to your children, try and try to make your own money, build a beautiful, strong and standard family and keep hoping for the best. Take care.
