Freedom for Her

Dear Men,
When you use that rope to tie your wife and keep her down; when you make her to depend on you for money to buy underwear; when she has to write list for grocery shopping, not for herself, but for you to review and give approval; when she can't take decisions in the house without you... you are married to a zombie and not a wife. And you know what? You are not doing that against her; it's against your children.

When you have a weakling as a wife (even if she is not, you make her one), you end up raising children who are afraid to face their world. Your money won't help issues here. This is why a good number of African widows suffer, they mostly live in the man's shadow. The woman remains the greatest role model for her children. Empower your wife today and/or allow her to empower herself.

Stop admiring women like Oby Ezekwesili and Dora Akunyili; they were assisted to the top by men like you who gave them the freedom to conquer their world. That colleague you admire so much has a husband who understands her and gives her every support needed to soar.

I was once a timid girl who couldn't even look at people's faces because I was in the wrong place. If not for God, I would have existed and died without making any impact. Your wife has great potentials in her; support her to put them to work. Give her some freedom today!

How do you do that? Change your friends and work on your self-esteem. It's more painful when the same man holding his wife down is the same man to make comments like, "Is she not a woman like you?
When you educate a woman, you educate the world. You're better off with a strong woman who can handle things (home and business) in your absence.

  1. Thank you for this write up, men please biko empower your wife, nobody knows tomorrow, am in that situation where am controlled as if am a child, a mother, a graduate, someone asked me what I want to do for myself it was then I realized that I don't have a clue what I even want for myself, it's that bad. Men never you make your woman loose herself all in the bid to become her head. Anyway it's never late to rewrite my story. Thanks amara if only they will hear. God bless you
