Book Review: A Raging River by Amara Van-Lare.

A Raging River by Amara Van-Lare is a biography of an ambitious, beautiful, fair and focused little girl, Chika by name who was groomed by her Godly parents and instilled with the virtues of obedience, respect, humility, hardwork and devotion to prayers and the word of God.
She nursed the ambition to become a surgeon due to her flair for biology but fate had so much in store for her.
Love came knocking with tons of appreciation and adulation for her beauty, and Jim and John will wrestle with their wealth and writing to win her heart.
What became the fate of her journey was better left imagined than what she experienced.
The horror of watching your husband having sex in your home, taking care of your husband's concubines in your home, the constant slapping, bleeding and bruises became a sinking ground that tormented her existence
Find out how Chika struggled with her pains and how she survived in the midst of vicious calumny and painful controversies.

  1. I have listened to Amara narrating her story. In as much as I condemn violence to any woman, it appears she is not human as she never even confronted her man or stood to challenge him, yet he beats her regularly. This is an incredible aspect of this story. She portrayed herself as better than the perfect woman. I wish her success anyway.
